This month, at The Joy Club, we’re taking some time for ourselves with our theme of ‘Wellbeing.’ Read on to learn more about what’s on offer this April and pick up some tips on how you can look after your own wellbeing this Spring…
Spring has finally sprung; daffodils are blooming, the days are getting longer and we are finally able to emerge from our homes to enjoy the promise of a new season. To help you make the most of the warmer days ahead, The Joy Club will be providing an array of live online events, recordings and articles on the subject of gardening. However green your thumbs may be, these events will be suitable for gardeners of all abilities. With The Joy Club, you can get a head start on your gardening, so that you can make the most of your outdoor spaces during the warmer months.
Throughout May, The Joy Club members can come together with other keen gardeners to gather inspiration for cultivating their own private slice of paradise – whether that be in their back garden, community parks or allotment. Helen, a member of The Joy Club, will be hosting a session entitled ‘Gardeners unite’ wherein people can come together to trade tips on how to grow the best crops, develop the dream patio and generally make the most of whatever outdoor space they have available. After all, nothing quite beats sunny afternoons spent outside sipping iced teas (or G&Ts) with loved ones.
For those looking to venture further afield, The Joy Club will also be hosting a live online session with MasterChef’s very own Beth Thomas, who will run a masterclass on preserves. As the seasons turn, our countryside (and even some urban paths) will be rife with fruits and herbs to forage. Beth will teach members how to make jams, chutneys and other delicious preserves so that they can enjoy the flavours of Spring all year round.
For anyone who’s already looking to get outside and soak up some sun, you can now enjoy The Joy Club outside – in the sunshine – with our new audio recordings. These recordings are available for members to listen to wherever they are, whatever they’re doing and at whatever time suits their schedule. Crucially, members can dip in and out of the recordings, without being tied to a computer when the sun is shining outside!
Have a listen to their first few audio recordings:
- An interview with a member of The Joy Club.
- A guided meditation with Therapeutic Yoga Practitioner Lily Gauri.
- An historical lecture on the 1970s housewives’ strike with Professor Maggie Andrews.
Without further ado, dust off your gardening tools, drag the patio furniture out from hibernation and get ready to enjoy the great outdoors this May with The Joy Club!
