  • What is The Joy Club?

    The Joy Club is an online activities club that brings people together over shared interests and provides inspiration for a joyful retirement.

    Members can try something new at professionally facilitated live online events, connect with a community of like-minded people in our forum and enjoy new interviews, features and stories with our daily blog.

    Whether you’d like to learn a new skill, put the world to rights with new friends or settle in to read our latest interview – there’s something to bring you joy at The Joy Club.

  • Can anyone become a member?

    Membership of The Joy Club is available to those living in the UK who have entered retirement or semi-retirement. As events and activities at The Joy Club all take place online, you will need to have access to the Internet in order to enjoy member benefits.

  • What events do you have?

    Members enjoy access to over live online 100 talks, classes and activities every month, including:

    • Tai Chi and Qigong
    • Solo dancing

    • Chair Yoga

  • What is the forum?

    The forum is where members can get to know each other, connect with the community and discuss their favourite blog posts and events. You are welcome to ask questions, share photos and talk about whatever interests you. The forum is moderated by members of the community.

  • What can I expect to read in your blog?

    Our blog is exclusive to members of The Joy Club and contains something interesting to read every day. Members can expect to enjoy a mixture of interviews, features and stories from specially commissioned writers AND from members themselves!

  • How do I become a member?

    You can become a member in just a couple of minutes. Simply:

Payment information

  • How much does it cost?

    Premium membership costs just £9.99 a month and you get a one-month free trial when you sign up – no card details required!

  • Do I have to provide my card details up front?

    No – we don’t do that!

  • Can I share my membership with a friend or partner?

    Your membership is just for you, so please don’t share your login details, links to live online events or promotional codes with anyone else. However, we would love you to recommend The Joy Club to anyone who you think might enjoy membership (so long as they have entered retirement, have Internet access and are based in the UK). If you share your unique referral code, then both you and your recommendee will earn a free month of Premium membership of The Joy Club, PLUS we’ll plant a tree when they become a member!

  • Are you going to spam me with emails?

    We’ll send you a few emails to help you get set up when you join. Our members enjoy our weekly emails where we share inspiration for new activities and exciting member updates BUT if you would like to opt out of emails then you can do so at any time.

  • What if I want to cancel?

    You are free to cancel your membership with The Joy Club at any time. We won’t ask for your card details up front, so if you cancel your membership during your free Premium trial then no payment will be taken. If you cancel your membership after providing card details then no further payments will be taken.

  • When will my payment be taken?

    As a Premium member, your £9.99 monthly membership payment will be taken on the same day each month. For example, if you sign up for your free Premium trial on 5th November, then your first membership payment will be taken on 5th December (if you’ve provided your card details). The next membership payment will be taken automatically on 5th January, and so on.
