As all of our events take place online, you will need to have access to the Internet in order to enjoy member benefits.

  • How much does it cost?

Premium membership costs just £9.99 a month and you get a one-month free trial when you sign up – no card details required.

  • Do I have to provide my card details up front?

No – you won’t need to provide card details upfront. You’ll only need to provide card details at the end of your free trial, should you wish to remain a Premium member, but there is no obligation to do so.

  • Can I try The Joy Club out without paying first?

Absolutely. Everyone who signs up gets a one-month free trial – no card details required and no obligation to continue if you find it’s not for you. If you have a promo code for an extended free trial, make sure to enter it when creating your account, or you can add it later in the ‘Membership’ tab of your account page.

  • Are you going to spam me with emails?

When you sign up, you’ll receive a series of ‘welcome’ emails, which will introduce you to all areas of The Joy Club website and provide recommendations for things to try, all based on your interests. If you subscribe to our marketing emails, you’ll receive a weekly newsletter that provides you with a full events timetable for the week ahead, plus regular news and updates from The Joy Club.

If you would like to opt out of emails then you can do so at any time.

  • What if I want to cancel my membership?

You are free to cancel your membership with The Joy Club at any time. We won’t ask for your card details up front, so if you cancel your membership during your free trial then no payment will be taken. If you cancel your membership after providing card details then no further payments will be taken.

Live online events

  • What events do you have?

Members enjoy access to a wide variety of live online events, including:

    • Tai Chi and Qigong
    • Virtual tours
    • Dance classes
    • Pilates
    • Yoga and chair yoga
    • Creative writing class
    • Art classes
    • Live concerts
    • Mindfulness sessions
    • Face yoga
    • Expert talks from influential artists, thinkers and public figures

    … and much more!

  • Do I have to join events with my camera and microphone on?

It’s completely up to you. You are welcome to join our events with your camera and microphone turned off, if you prefer.

  • Will The Joy Club be recording me through my camera?

We often record events so that members can enjoy them on-demand at their leisure. However, we only record the screen of the person hosting the event, so you won’t be recorded.

  • Are your events suitable for people at different proficiency levels?

Absolutely. Depending on the event, we have different ‘difficulty’ or ‘experience’ levels available for you to choose from, and all of our event hosts are able to offer modifications for anyone who would like them. Make sure to take a look at our event descriptions for information on what you might need and what levels are catered for.

  • Will I be able to ask questions during an event?

Yes – in most cases, you’ll be able to ask the host or a member of The Joy Club team questions during the event. We also host more ‘formal’ events where attendees’ cameras and microphones will automatically be turned off, but you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions via the chat for a Q&A at the end.

We also invite attendees to join events up to 10-minutes before the start time in order to settle in and enjoy a casual chat with the host and other attendees.

  • Do I have to commit to your events on a regular basis?

You are welcome to dip in and out of events as you please. In fact, we encourage members to try as many different events as possible within their free trial to get a feel for the variety on offer, but there’s never any obligation to come back to an event if it’s not for you.

  • What happens if I miss an event?

We record most of our events so that members can enjoy them on-demand at their leisure. Our event hosts understand that life sometimes gets in the way, and you will always have the opportunity to cancel your booking if you need to.

  • Do you offer any in-person events or get-togethers?

The Joy Club is only available online at the moment. Being online enables us to reach as many people as possible and ensures that we’re easily accessible. However, if there’s enough interest in in-person events then this is something we’d love to explore in the future.
