Meet Joanna Cooke
Joanna has been a dedicated artist for over 25 years, honing her craft from her home studio nestled in the stunning landscapes of Southwest Kerry, Ireland. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Joanna’s artistic journey has taken her across continents, and she has been teaching art internationally since 2020. Her vibrant career in South Africa saw her regularly exhibiting her work and gaining recognition in prestigious outlets like SA Artist Magazine.
After moving to Ireland in 2021, Joanna established a teaching studio, showroom and gallery at her countryside home, where she continues to inspire and nurture creativity. Her talents extend beyond the canvas as she also illustrates children’s picture books for authors worldwide.
A versatile and inspiring teacher
Joanna’s art spans a variety of styles and mediums, from traditional coloured pencil, ink, and watercolour to graphite, pastel and oil paint. This versatility is one of her greatest strengths as a teacher, allowing her to guide students through a range of artistic expressions. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, Joanna’s approach is all about drawing out your unique talent and helping you find the medium and style that best suits your creative vision.
We’re incredibly pleased to boast an array of talented facilitators here already at The Joy Club, and look forward to adding to this with Joanna’s monthly art event, which will provide an environment where each member can explore their creativity freely, inspired by Joanna’s own whimsical art that captures the beauty and charm of the natural world.
