Read The Joy Club member, Susanna Lewis’ poetic tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Here, she reflects on the collective shock felt by a nation in response to the passing of our longest reigning monarch.

A day like no other

A day like no other
Where shock crushes our world
As words fill the screen
Unreal and unwanted
She was steadfast and strong
The mother of us all
Providing safety and love
Comforting through the years
Smiling with those twinkly eyes
Loyalty and kindness ever present
And now grief fills our heart
Unable to let go of our perfect Queen
The silence of a nation feeling loss
On this day like no other.
