A square peg in a round hole

A square peg in a round hole

Walking along the beach, the bird song rising all around me like an orchestra warming up before a major event, how apt that is this morning. It was reminding me of the last time we walked on this sand, darting between the sandcastles built with so much thought. Here I am again walking with you. The squeals of delight coming from the young family bouncing about in the water, ducking and diving echoed in tune with the wild life around, all unaware that you would be joining them shortly. You always were the square peg in a round hole. As the wind wrapped itself around your ashes and carried you out to sea I quietly whispered goodbye, having fulfilled your wish for an unconventional funeral.
